My PC was my sole access point to my email account. Received a tablet in Christmas 2015. I started to view my emails, but not edit contents, starting in June 2015. For the last two weeks, since January 13 (evening), I have not been able to use my PC to download my messages. I can still view my emails on my tablet, without challenge. I want to change my access back to where it was before, where my PC is my primary access point, and the tablet a non-editing viewer. The devices are a PC with Windows 10 OS, and a Samsung Tablet E.

You need to fix the issue with your tablet. Thunderbird does not run on tablets so there is no interaction between the two. If I had to guess you set the tablet to use POP protocol instead of IMAP and the tablet is grabing the messages and removing them from the server. At that point there is nothing for your PC to download. If you are going to check email from multiple devices then IMAP works best.

Google POP vs IMAP and then decide for yourself.

The tablet is set to imagine, and the pc is set to pop protocols, and have not been changed. Tonight I just realized another piece of my puzzle. When I opened Mozilla, and asked to download new messages, in the bottom left hand corner of the monitor was the notation 'downloading 1 0f 306 messages'... But nothing was downloading. So yes, the issue lies with Mozilla, not the tablet app. Any ideas what could have been changed?

that sounds like perhaps you have an anti virus that is not cutting it.

What are you using, and does it work any better if you disable it's email scanner?
