how to stop add-ons from interrupting my firefox page with their switching my tabs to tell me they updated?
hi,
i just had my firefox page interrupted by an add-on switching me to new tab telling me they just updated me successfully.
so, i began searching firefox help info and settings to try to learn how to stop this. i finally found your help page: "Web Push notifications in Firefox"-- which i don't know anything about, but am guessing might be the same thing (?) then, so i clicked on the add-on info's link and it led me to their webpage: http://barisderin.com/?p=1113 there i clicked the i icon in the left of address bar, and it brought up the permissions. however, there was no choice to click any menu next to Permissions to choose a notification option: Always Ask, Allow, or Block. All it says there is "you have not granted this site any special permissions." And yet, i just 5 minutes ago had my firefox page interrupted by their switching me to new tab telling me they just updated my app successfully.(?) well, I want the updates, but i don't want them (nor any other app) announcing to me suddenly everytime they do so.
i am not sure how to get this to work? (i've also regularly been interrupted by the google add-ons, which i also want to keep, but only not get those disruptions!)
thanks for any guidance!

You're guessing wrong. Check the add-on options whether you can disable the update notification. Otherwise contact the add-on author.
okay, thanks for the info! so then, what exactly is that :"web push notifications", as compared to the add-on's "disable the update notifications"?-- since the FF help page says it's about choosing a notification option? ( Always Ask, Allow, or Block...) since i failed to understand that help page, would you be so kind as to explain very simply-- perhaps share an example of an instance or two,
in which i'd want to block the web push notifications, instead of disable the update notifications?
so i can get it straight in my muddled brain, ya! ;)
i'm also wondering-- do you have any idea why, no matter what webpage i've tried (so far anyway), when i try clicking the "i" icon in the left of address bar, and it brings up the permissions, there is no choice to click any menu next to Permissions to choose a notification option: (Always Ask, Allow, or Block), even though the help page says there should be?
(All it ever says there is "you have not granted this site any special permissions.")
