Can the Menu Bar be placed under the Toolbar like in previous versions of Firefox?

Had to reset Firefox browser today which automatically update to latest version, 32.0.3 . When I added the Menu Bar back on the Startpage it (by default) placed it above the Tab/Toolbar. I originally had it just below the Toolbar, and would like to place it back in that position. I already tried to move it by the "Customize" button, but it does not allow the user to move it there.

No, Firefox doesn't allow the Menu Bar to be moved anywhere, only hidden or showing.

Sorry, that question concerning the Menu Bar being moved (placed) under the Toolbar was my mistake – been using too many different browsers lately and got Firefox confused with another browser. Recently looking at screen pics of the previous version of Firefox Startpage, and I did not have the Menu Bar enabled.

Now that I have the Menu Bar enabled (showing), it does seem to be in an awkward location – upper left corner of screen, and tightly compact. Don't really like this location, should be just below the Toolbar like in Internet Explorer.

You can look at the Classic Theme Restorer extension to customize the appearance in Firefox 29 and later and make it look like older Firefox versions.

  • You can check out the settings of the CTR extension via its Options/Preferences button on the "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" page.
  • You can find extra toolbar buttons and more toolbar settings in Customize (3-bar Firefox menu button > Customize)
