I have my browser buttons set up perfectly where I want them. I don't need someone else removing or moving them where they think is a better place.

How can I restore the refresh/stop button? Yes, I see the refresh in the address bar. I want it to the left, next to the home button where it's been for 10 years.

Chrome lets me put the button wherever I want it. The last Firefox version did too.

Thanks. It almost works, installing two plugins to restore my settings to normal. Unfortunately, my button arrangement is:

Back/Forward | Home | Refresh/Stop

and has been for a very long time. I can't move the Back/Forward buttons. So my muscle memory is set, and every time I hit the back button, I have to stop and think where it is now.

This is the same thing I don't like about IE.

Consider me a convert to Chrome, guys. Now I'll just have to remember to click the rainbow eye and not the orange fox - but at least I'll only do it once a day.

hank you for trying the new Firefox. We’re sorry that you’re unhappy with the new design.

Here are a few suggestions for restoring the old design. We hope you’ll find one that works for you:

Firefox is a work in progress and your feedback is very important to us. Our support community is run by volunteers who work hard to help all Firefox users, but we can’t make changes to the design ourselves. • You can access the settings of the CTR extension via its Options/Preferences button on the "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" page.
  • You can find extra toolbar buttons in the Customize palette (3-bar Firefox menu button > Customize)

Thank you. Yes, this worked - over 2 days, 2 plugins, 20 minutes, and help from a forum,I was able to restore my buttons. BTW - in the plugin, "Combine Stop and Refresh" requires you to put the stop button to the left of the refresh for this to work.

And you have to do this for each login.

Would be better if Mozilla didn't remove them in the first place.

classic theme restorer causes many other issues, and is not supported by mozilla.

it is not an acceptable solutions for this issue.

in general, addons and extensions should not be used for "solving" technical issues and/or recover removed features.

i have installed "classic theme restorer" - as advised by firefox support here.

now there is a new issue: installing this extension brought back the firefox button in the top-left corner. but at the same time, this extension removes/hides the new menu button on the right side of the toolbar.

using the customization screen i am able to put the button back on the toolbar, but pressing this button has no effect.

and here is the punchline: since firefox support team is listing this extension as the one and only possible solution to several hundred thousand user complaints, this is now a FULLY SUPPORTED BY MOZILLA FEATURE/PRODUCT.

you cant win both cases: 1) either you stop recommending this extension and replace all such instances with a simpler "unsupported feature" for all forum questions. at least this way your users will know to look for a new browser. 2) actually fix the feature in your product to work as the users desire.
