Poor website
No I cannot respond to a question because there is no direct link. Only searching back to this "post a question". It is an unfriendly website and no wonder people are annoyed with Firefox.
Everytime I open a site, it immediately opens another window in the background or foreground with advertising "spam(?)" such
as coles, et cetera, that slows down my computer. And no, I don't have my computer infected by myself. It also puts small advertising windows for games and dating sites, et cetera, on the desktop in front of the web page that I've opened and blocking the content on the page. And will not go away and has no option to delete it off the screen, only to open them. After signing in to your forum site, because there is no way to contact admin. because they hide behind their computer, there is meant to be a confirmation email sent and nothing arrives. This site was good ages ago and now it really is garbage and people want to come to auckland to sort it out. If it was Monday, I would ring you guys up and tell my views on firefox........ It is impossible for me to upload photos of this. And don't try to tell me I can, because I cannot. I want an email address to send the photos to. If not, I'm going to report motzilla to the New Zealand's government communication department, as you are in breach of communication legislation.
Thank you.

Hello again.
Sorry you are still having trouble still with Firefox and trying to use this support site.
I am trying my best to help you. I understand your frustration but posting repeated requests and then being unable for some reason to answer those trying to help is making it rather difficult for us to assist you.
What you describe in this and other posts is rather typical of problems with malware or at least unwanted third party software on your computer.

Photos
If for some reason you find it so difficult to attach photos here upload then to any publicly accessible web site and include the link so that we can look at them.
If you really do need to email someone then send a polite message with your photos to the HelpDesk manager Patrick [email protected]
When you do so please mention this thread link https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/982085
Suggestion
In my opinion it would be a really good idea if you tried scanning your system with multiple and up-to-date tools as follows.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- TDSSKiller - AntiRootkit Utility
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
- AdwCleaner: (for adware)
- Kaspersky Free security scan
You need to use multiple and up-to-date tools as they will not all pick up the same things.
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good FREE permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.
Your System / Device
You seem to have posted from an iPhone Please say
- What sort of device you having a problem on ?
Such as: Apple Computer, Mobile Phone, Windows Computer - If known what is the Operating System & version
Such as: Mac OS X 10.6, Android 4.0, Windows Vista
Forum Note. I will tag as escalate & pm Patrick & Rachel ~ J99
Switch Firefox to Safe Mode. That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.
If Firefox is currently running: use
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
If Firefox it not currently running: hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox.
In the small dialog that should appear, click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset)
Any improvement?
As mentioned in a reply to you in a previous thread, you can attach screen shots to a reply if you like.
If you have trouble finding your own questions, there are links to them in your profile: https://support.mozilla.org/user/1026225
It is in safe mode and it's doing the same thing. I'm bloody sick of it. It's from firefox. I don't use anything else.
The "Ads by VideoSaver" popups are usually attributed to an extension, and extensions should be disabled when you run Firefox in Firefox's Safe Mode. But it seems there are more severe issues.
(1) Check for a diverted connection here:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > Network mini-tab > "Settings" button
If the setting is not the default of "Use system proxy settings" or "No proxy", select one of those.
(2) Do the malware check recommended in this thread:
If Firefox's Safe Mode isn't deactivating extensions, you can do it manually on the Add-ons page. Either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a
- orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable (or if possible Remove).
Usually a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step. But pause for a minute and check for the next issue:
Check for a user.js file in your settings folder that could override your settings changes, as described in this article: How to fix preferences that won't save.
If you think your extensions are innocent, you could post a list of them here for a second opinion. Open the Troubleshooting Information page using either:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information
- type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter
In the upper left corner, click the "Copy text to clipboard" button.
When you paste that into a reply here, you will note a ton of other information starting with Important Modified Preferences. You can delete that part before submitting your post.
Hello underwaterant,
Thank you for contacting Mozilla Support. As John99 and Jscher2000 have explained these pop ups are caused by a bad extension and Malware that has been installed to your PC.
I would suggest the same as they have and make sure you run a Malware scan on your PC.
Please report back on what the Malware scan reports.
Cheers, Patrick
