Some days or weeks ago, Firefox would start by showing the tabs opened in my last session instedad of my home page. I am running Firefox v19.0

I have tried going into options and verifying the session for "when firefox starts..." I have tried changing these to other values, exiting and then restarting changing them to something else and restarting. I have looked at setting the on crash settings to prompt for what to do at startup, but it would never prompt. I have tried removing the sessionstore.js file (despite there being no obvious issue with it). None of these gets by Firefox wanting to resume the previous session.

That didn't solve my problem. I also deleted the sessionstore.js and that did not solve my problem. BUT.....

When I was poking around the directory, i found a user.js file. It had one line:

user_pref("yahoo.ytff.general.dontshowhpoffer", true);user_pref("browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once", true);

This file was dated just over a week ago. Once i got rid of perf.js, sessionstore.js and user.js, i was all set. I suspect that user.js was the culprit all along, but I am just going to leave well enough alone now and not try to being back my old prefs.js file

The user.js file does not exist by default. Are you the only user of firefox in your pc ?

yes, i am the only user. it was located in my profile directory

do you have a yahoo add-on ? if the add-on create the user.js file ! if you have it and recreate the user.js file with the same lines again, check it in safe mode.

thanks again

I'm OK with things at this point. I don't have any yahoo addons for firefox and the only yahoo product on my machine is their messenger.

Thanks for your help!
