I use Google. When I sign into my account the buttons are in English. As I navigate and return to the home page buttons change to what appears to be Russian or and Eastern European language. Computer virus scans do not indicate any problems. A friend has confirmed that she is experiencing the same issue. The second issue occurred at the same time and is that when I sign into my igoogle account the home page no longer pops up and must be accessed through a search.

Check the connection settings.

If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then try to select "No Proxy" if the "Use the system proxy settings" setting or one of the others doesn't work properly.

See "Firefox connection settings":

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
