If i have typo while entering address in the address bar i get "server not found" error, i want the option to run search if server not found. for example if i type mozilla.orh i will get server not found, but if i run search as a secondary option i will get the first result to be mozilla.org.

The URL search unfortunately does only work for search keywords, not for what could be a URL. Check the following:

  1. In the Location bar, type about:config and press Enter. The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.
  2. Click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page.
  3. Search for keyword.
  4. From the remaining results, check that keyword.enabled is set to true and keyword.URL is set to empty.

As a possible workaround, try this No restart add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/url-fixer/?src=search
