Move Popup Windows to the Foreground

Some sites (e.g. TV Guides) open popups relating to the page in the main window. The first time, the popup comes up in the foreground. When I return to the main window and click another link (making the popup update its data) – the popup remains in the background. Is there a way to force FF to always move it to the foreground?

Thank you.

hello, i've tried it with this setting, but i think the website is not set-up to put the focus on the already open popup again...

you might want to contact the people from ynet and ask them to fix the issue on their side - see https://developer.mozilla.org/en/DOM/window.open (faq How can I bring back the window if it is minimized or behind another window?)

hello, could you provide a link to a sample page, where you've observed this behaviour please.

It's not in English. I hope you could manage.

Thanks.

Maybe check this setting:

  • Tools > Options > Content : JavaScript > Advanced > Allow Scripts to: [X] "Raise or lower windows"
  • Press F10 or tap the Alt key to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily if the Menu Bar is hidden.
  • Use "Firefox > Options" instead of "Tools > Options" if the menu bar is hidden.

A good idea. Unfortunately it didn't help.

Thank you.

It works with IE9 not FF. Anyway I'm not sure if the website is FF-compliant...

I've tried it with IE8. The same problem.

Thank you.
