how to remove unwanted screen

Just updated from version 60.9.1 to latest (don't ask why). Just spent hours putting things back the way they were, but cannot find a way to get rid of the screen containing things like "Choose What to Set Up", "Import from Another Program", "About Mozilla Thunderbird" etc that shows when no folder is selected from any account (see attached screenshot). I would prefer to see a blank screen in this area when no account folder is selected as previously.

Any way to remove this? if not, how about taking this as a request. Thanks.

Your preference is not relevant here. It is not something you have control over.

If you want to offer feedback about the customization, or lack of, I suggest you use the feedback link on thunderbird's help menu. Seriously it is so many years since I had V60 installed I am not sure I even remember little details about it like that. I actually think it always showed a similar screen when you selected the account entry in the folder pane. However as I said, I am struggling to remember what it even looked like.

This is the second time I have asked a question and have received a rude and obnoxious reply from 'Matt'. There is no need to answer a question with "Your preference is not relevant here". A simple "sorry, but that is something that you cannot change" would suffice. I don't need to know when you last did something, and your recollection of what things were is obviously wrong, as I could remember how it was, as it was only a couple of days ago for me, otherwise I would not be asking if there was a way of putting it back to as it was. I ASKED politely, that if it were not possible to put it through as a request. Telling me to use some other feedback channel is just laziness on your behalf. If you cannot be helpful, say you can't help, just don't be obnoxious about it.

You don't get it. I am not sorry and I have nothing to be sorry about.

You have two choices with your "request". You can post your ideas and feedback in the correct forum and it will be recorded as such, or it will be ignored here. The developers actually pay someone to periodically look in the feedback and ideas forum. They don't look here! Personally I just don't care if your request is ignored, but I was silly enough to think you might. That the facts do not suit you is still not relevant and it is not lazy to tell you it is not be done that way. When you lodge your tax return with the immigration office, they do not send it to the correct address, the best you can hope for it they will return it to you. Why expect more from a global volunteer forum?

This is a peer support forum. No one here is paid. The volunteers are few. But if I do happen to notice your name on future topics I will simply ignore them as you don't like my direct approach. You can have that, if I notice who posted and my apologies in advance for when I miss it.
