I've used Thunderbird for years. Then my laptop died. Reloaded everything.

I can receive email without issue. However when I try to send email, I get this message:

"An error occurred while sending mail: The mail server sent an incorrect greeting. Cannot connect to SMTP server 173.201.193.228 (173.201.193.228:587), connect error 10060."

Thunderbird 52.9.1 (32 bit) Godaddy email / domain. I (think) I've tried all the combinations of port and password sending.

Current settings - pop.secureserver.net - POP - port 110 - password, transmitted insecurely My password is correct.

Someone please help - It's a pain in the butt to read mail in TBird and have to reply using Godaddy's web portal to respond.

I really want to use TBird and not have to use Outlook.

Chosen solution

Not sure how, but I tweaked the config and it's working now.

Additionally - Tbird works - I've configured an AOL email on it and it's sending and receiving emails. It's Tbird / godaddy specific...

I configured it and it worked well on the previous laptop that died.
