I use accented characters to write French. When I type Alt+147, with Num Lock On, to type the "ô" character--FIREFOX throws me out. I lose the window.

All other environments accept all and any character typed with Num Lock activated and [Alt] + Code [example: Alt+130 is é. Firefox does not accept the French character "ô" (Alt + 147). This is a show stopper for me... bye-bye Firefox... 'snif'

What happens if you type Alt+147? Do you get the home page (Alt+7)? Does this also happen with other codes that contain any of those numbers?

Ok. I see in another thread that Firefox is crashing when you press Alt+7.

What happens if you disable Num lock? Does Firefox crash then as well or does that give you the home page?
