today i updated firefox and now my facebook page has posts from facebook saying 'stay dry today sandy, its raining in ____! i have never had facebook be aware of my city location before because i am in a remote city that routes ip through a large nearby metropolitan area.

Most people have the opposite issue. I would think that your IP has made some Hardware Changes and installed something closer to you. Also check Facebook settings and turn off what ever might be new or is showing your location in there.

In the Address Bar the i in a Circle - Click while on Facebook Then Click the Arrow then More Information then Permissions and untick the things you do not want to share along with location. Remember what you have done. Test by log out then back in.

already checked my facebook permissions ^ and it hasnt changed. this is what i have always gotten before whether its twitter or facebook- this is what the old version of firefox also said, and internet explorer also-

as soon as i logged in after downloading the latest mozilla firefox however facebook now said my exact city location!
