Thunderbird Alias Address Not Being Shown
Hi All,
1. I have created an alias address and also configured the manage identities as advised by Thunderbird help. One email is [email protected] and the other (alias) is [email protected]. Now when I send an email from the alias [email protected], then email which is being received by my client shows that the email has been sent by [email protected]. Why is this happening? 2. Also, the Reply-To keeps appearing up on the email when sending or receiving. Is there a way I can get rid of Reply-To?
Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you are sending using the Outgoing Server (SMTP) for the [email protected]. If this is the case then try the folllowing:
Right click on mail account name in Folder Pane and select 'Settings'
Confirm you have created an outgoing server (SMTP) for [email protected] email address. In left Pane, select 'Outgoing Server (SMTP)' On the right you should have a list of all your outgoing servers. Ideally one for each email address. select the one in the list that has 'User Name' = [email protected] email address. click on 'Edit' Change the 'Description' to something more meaningful eg: 'Contact'. This is only used to help identify which is which when you have more than one using similar server settings. click on OK
If it does not exist tyhen you need to create one. clickon 'Add' complete the fields. click on OK.
then make sure it is being used by the [email protected] identity.
click on 'Manage Identities' button
select the [email protected] and click on 'Edit'
In 'Settings' tab
at the bottom 'Outgoing server (SMTP)
You need to select the correct one eg: 'Contact' for that account/email address.
click on OK
click on Ok to save and close account settings.
RE 'Reply-to'
This would have seen set by whomever sent the email. If this is an email you sent to yourself then check: Right click on mail account name in Folder Pane and select 'Settings' 'Reply-to Address:' this should be left blank. click on OK
Toad,
Thanks for your help. My problem is solved with your help.
