One result of both laptops having the same IP address was that the proxy settings of the original laptop were changed and I couldn't get into the internet. After restoring the default proxy settings I again had access to the internet, but both laptops still have the same IP address.

Aren't you using DHCP to automatically assign different IP addresses?

HI Laubacher, I understand that both computers have the same ip address and it may be preventing the two to sync. Try to rename one of the computers in the Sync menu under Options/Preferences.

  1. about:preferences#sync
  2. It's under device name.
  3. Then try Tools > Sync Now

8/ just confirmed that the sync server does not care much about IP, may I confirm the former question from corel, as well as if there are any other programs that might be managing outbound connections?
