Popup reported web site attempting to access Firefox (don't remember exact message); buttons available: allow once, allow, block; chose Block (have selected Allow Once before, but that sounded like a bad idea). After this, I get "Unable to connect" no matter where I go. Had to use IE to get to Mozilla.org. Refresh of Firefox didn't help. Troubleshooting procedure didn't help.

hello, this sounds like an issue with your firewall/security software blocking new firefox versions. please remove all program rules for firefox from your firewall and let it detect the new version of the browser again.
