I was downloading a game when firefox (with 2 - 3 tabs opened) closed all of a sudden. When I restarted it all the tabs were still open. I closed all of them but I couldn't access any other site. The following message was shown- The proxy server is refusing connections

Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections.

Check the proxy settings to make sure that they are correct.
Contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working.

P.S help as soon as possible Sincerely jeffintroble

Chosen solution

The default connection settings have been changed to "Use the system proxy settings". See #Firefox_connection_settings|Firefox connection settings

You can find the connection setting here: Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select No Proxy
