the google search bar in firefox 4 does not respond ! how can i fix it ?!

when i type something in the google search bar (in the top right) and press enter or click in the magnifying glass icon nothing happens and no search is made ! although when i open www.google.com i don't have any problem. if anyone could help me with this i would appreciate it a lot !

It's probably caused by the Norton toolbar you have installed. Norton is currently incompatible with Firefox 4.0.1, see Norton product compatibility with Firefox Updates

Other add-ons which cause that problem are McAfee Site Advisor, AVG Safe Search, AVG Linkscanner, Ask Toolbar and similar security apps.

Try running Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode. If it functions properly in that configuration, then one of your add-ons is the culprit.
