You can also download the APK file directly from our FTP server: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mobile/releases/4.0rc1/android-r7/multi/

For other users who find this question, please make sure your phone is compatible before trying to install Firefox: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Platforms/Android#System_Requirements

Will this apk version receive updates via Android Market? If not, how can I stay updated with latest releases?

You will not receive automatic updates if you download the Firefox APK manually, without using the Market. You will need to update Firefox yourself when a new version is released by downloading the new version from https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Platforms/Android.

If you download the "Fennec" nightly development build from that page, it will automatically update itself, but it might be less stable than the official Firefox release.
