I have noticed within the past few weeks, when I'm on Facebook in Mozilla, I have a number of flashing annoying ads. I do not have them in Chrome, Safari, or IE. I have tied to use the adblock add-on to block them but I can't. It only seems to be happening on Facebook.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Do a malware check with a few malware scan programs. You need to use all programs because each detects different malware. Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.
