I just came over to Thunderbird from Windows Live Mail 2012 where all you had to do is right click on an e-mail and select "Add Sender to Contacts" in order to get the sender in your Contacts list. Is there an easy to also accomplish this same operation with Thunderbird? Thank you. John

Chosen solution

see the star beside the persons name in the message header. Click it. The outline star means they are not in your address book, the full yellow star means they are already in your address book.

Clicking the outline adds them. Clicking the full star edits.

I tried clicking a star on a friend's e-mail and the star turned yellow but when I looked in the address book, his name and address was not there. Must I turn off the computer and turn it back on for the information to enter? Thank you. John

Correction: The yellow star worked. The addition to my address book was not instantaneous but it did occur. Thank you for your help. John
