OS Win 10, Firefox 64 bit, Java 64 bit, tested Firefox in safe mode. Open Facebook, no problem. Navigate to Messages - crash. Why?
Can load Facebook with no problem, navigate to "Messages" and Firefox crashes, navigate to friend's timeline to post, Firefox crashes.
Plugins - OpenH 264 Video codec - Cisco; Primetime Content Decryption - Adobe; Silverlight; Widevine Content decryption - Google.
Extensions - Better Privacy; F.B. Purity; Flagfox; Ghostery; Google analytic Opt-out; Reminder Fox; Tin Eye; UBlock Origin; Video without flash.
Same issue with Firefox running in safe mode - crash. Any theories?

hi, can you please try if you can still reproduce the issue when you use firefox beta (a fix for this crash should just have landed there)?: https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/channel/desktop/

At this time, I do not know how installing a beta version will impinge upon my current Firefox installation, so I am hesitant to accomplish this. Your statement, "...(a fix for this crash should have just have just landed there)...", leaves me questioning whether the fix is or is not "landed there."

Decided to install the beta version after speaking with my son who is an IT Administrator. The beta version will overwrite my current version and a new release will override the beta - so I did it and the problem is solved.
thanks for reporting back. i was just using the subjunctive because we were still lacking user feedback at the time if the fix really worked. glad that you can confirm that it is indeed fixing the problem :-)

You are welcome Phillipp. It is good form to report that a problem is solved and how it was solved. Have a Happy New Year.
