How to add search engines to Firefox for iOS?

The Firefox app only offers four search engines (Wikipedia, eBay, Google and Twitter) and I only have the possibility to choose between those and/or deactivate them. Documentation says other search engines are available, including DuckDuckGo, but they are nowhere to be found. I have a hunch that it is linked to the fact that my iPhone is set up in Italian. Could that be the reason? If so, can the language be changed just for the Firefox app? Any way to install new search engines? Thanks a lot in advance!

Your hunch is correct. Right now, DuckDuckGo is only available on US English versions. There are plans to add it to all languages in the future.

Hi Chris, Thanks for your reply. It did really seem like I had looked at all options... This being said, is there a way to install the US version of the app despite the phone itself staying Italian? I wouldn't want to change the entire phone language for just one app but I could live with the app in English. Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know whether progress is being made on this? Or whether there is a way to install/set up firefox in a different language than the phone's language? Thanks a bunch!
