How can I truly restore Firefox to pre-addon settings?

I installed the add-on "Image-Show-Hide." I quickly decided it was useless, and removed it. However, even after relaunching Firefox, my autoconfig settings didn't revert to normal. Next, I tried "Restore Defaults" via Customize Firefox. No change. So then I used the "Refresh Firefox" option, as suggested in a help article. End result, I'm still getting incomplete image display--plus, the "saved" Firefox profile on my desktop doesn't seem to be accessible.

From what I can tell, a Windows system restore would not revert my browser's autoconfig settings. I'd appreciate any help on how I can get my old Firefox back, short of completely uninstalling and reinstalling the browser.

Delete possible user.js and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.

Thank you for the quick replies! I'll be trying these when I get home from work tonight, and mark this as "Resolved" if everything works out. :)
