I don't want or need this to popup every time I open a page, I looked in about:config and deleted the value in one line and changed the other to false and it is still popping up so what do I need to do to disable it completely? Thanks

Hello, if you mean the next preference reader.parse-on-load.enabled after you set it False try to restart firefox, any luck ? (in my win after a page refresh works fine, the disable-enable, no need to restart)

thank you

Mmmm, seems cor-el has a better solution, please see : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1065043#answer-735898

Thanks, I disabled it by deleting the value in browser.uitour.readerViewTrigger since setting browser.reader.detectedFirstArticle to false and reader.parse-on-load.enabled kept resetting back to true on restart, although it may be that I had another instance running in memory when I restarted, since that seems to happen quite a bit with plugin container crashes ( that's another problem though!) Anyway now reader view seems to be gone for good, I don't find it necessary on my laptop but nice to have on android.
