I have Firefox on my old laptop with Windows Vista. My computer is connected and recieving an internet signal, but when I open firefox, it will load a mozilla page with a google search bar, but once I select a different webpage or type in a search term, the page closes, and a small window pops up with the title "Mozilla Crash Reporter." When I click on "restart firefox," I get the "well, this is embarrassing" screen. Clicking restore takes me straight back to the google page... a vicious cycle.

I believe it may be virus related as I've also saved documents from the same laptop to a memory stick, which do not show up when I try to pull them up on another computer. It isn't the stick or other computer. I've searched about possible viruses, but cannot find anything.

If you have submitted crash reports then please post the IDs of one or more recent crash reports that have a "bp-" prefix:

  • bp-xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx

You can find the IDs of the submitted crash reports on the about:crashes page.

  • You can open the about:crashes page via the location bar, like you open a website, or open the crash reports page via "Help > Troubleshooting Information".
