I recently installed yahoo toolbar unknowingly in a recent software upgrade from messenger with yahoo. I must have missed the checkbox to not install, and I DO NOT want it in my browser, as I have enough realesate used up from other boomarks, add ons, etc. However, after updating to the new version of firefox, I cannot view any add-ons from the tools menu. It trys to load the framework where the addons page is, (can click on other options, extensions, search, etc) but nothing ever loads, and it hangs on the page. It will not display my current add-ons, to allow me to uninstall the yahoo toolbar. I then tried uninstalling the add on in Windows Add/Remove Programs which it did sucessfully, but it still remains in the FireFox Browser. Please Help! Why is my add-ons page not loading at all?! I am using Firefox version 9.0.1 which I just recently upgraded to.

To elaborate, and clarify exactly what happens- I go to Tools>Addons, and a new tab loads with the Add-ons Manager. In this window there are four tab type button options on the left- Get Add-ons, Extensions, Appearance, and Plugins. When I click on Get Add-ons a tiny loading window appears, but never progresses. When I click on extensions, nothing happens or shows. Appearance loads the page that shows the default Theme correctly, and the plugins option works fine and loads the page that shows all my plugins properly.

It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.

Delete the files extensions.* (e.g. extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini, extensions.cache) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

New files will be created when required.

See "Corrupt extension files":

If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left side of the Search Bar (or click the "Find Updates" button in older Firefox versions) to do a compatibility check or see if there is a compatibility update available.

Thank you, it worked!!! Add-ons and Extensions are loading and working. Next I will try to sync with my other computer. Thank you cor-el, you gave me the answer. I am in your debt.
