Hi

Firefox 8

I am having trouble with firefox constantly crashing, I can be fine for a few hours but then all of a sudden it crashes. Happens alot when on gmail. A crash report isn't always generated depending on the crash.

Sometimes I get "Firefox has stopped working" the generic windows crash alert, when it crashes like this it doesn't generate a crash report.

I have provided a crash ID's from the times it actually asked me to submit an error report.

I would like to downgrade to firefox 7, can anybody offer any guidelines on how to do this.

Thanks

Mathew Chapman

If it doesn't work,

Download links for Firefox 7.0.1

http://mozilla.cdn.leaseweb.com/firefox/releases/7.0.1/win32/en-US/Firefox%20Setup%207.0.1.exe

ftp://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/7.0.1/win32/en-US/Firefox%20Setup%207.0.1.exe

There is no need to uninstall Firefox before downgrade. But make a backup copy of your bookmarks and profile folder before new installation even though the downgrade procedure leaves your profile folder untouched.

Great post thanks for the help. This seriously should be a link right off the main page put it just above the Link "Firefox Free Download".

Would also be good to put a warning in between this link and the link to download the latest version with some basic "Are you sure you really want to download the latest version?"

I hate the 'YAHOO! sign/logo on the upper right corner.
