PlayStation log-on breaks Firefox
For the past few days, when I try to log on to PlayStation on Firefox, the sign-in page sits on a loading swirl after inputting email. There's a clear memory leak shown on Task Manager. The menu bar's right-click doesn't draw properly. FF can't be closed and needs to be terminated. The only extension I have is uBlock Origin disabled for this site.
This website works on Edge.
Attached is the broken menu from right-clicking the menu bar.

Deleted image as had address visible. Attached update.
It does. ;-))
Had to sign in with Firefox in Safe Mode. It looks like Ghostery is the issue, but in the process of checking.

Yeah even with ETP, ABP, and Ghostery turned off, Firefox becomes unresponsive and after closing the window it takes time to come back to life. Only Safe Mode works for me.

You can check for issues with Total Cookie Protection.
I already have Cookie Protection disabled for PlayStation. Well, jonzn4SUSE has more detailed testing than me. ;)
Hello this is Don and I am having the exact same problem except with Sony Community Forum on my HP desktop. The Sony Community Forum and the PlayStation Support Site are the same but different departments. I have a feeling they are maintained by the same Site Team. I have tried everything to correct this on FireFox Side including the suggestions @cor-el has made with the links, refreshed Firefox and even uninstalled and re-installed Firefox and still nothing. What is really strange is that I can sign in to the Sony Site on my wife's laptop using Firefox and this was the second time I ever did so. She has no bookmarks, Login or passwords for Sony saved in Firefox. I compared the settings in her Firefox to the settings in my Firefox and both were exactly the same. The only thing is her Laptop uses Spectrum wireless and I use Spectrum Ethernet. The Sony website team is suppose to be looking into this as to why some can get in and some cannot. Now another strange thing is several days before all this started I was hit with a bunch of puzzles to solve and I am not talking one or two but I am talking several groups of ten. Never has that happened. I do want to add that Sony has recently changed their sign-in screens. If I hear anything from Sony I will let you know.
Respectfully, Don

Logging into the Sony Playstation site works for me.
Does it still happen in a new profile without signing into Sync? An easy way to test a new profile is to install Developer Edition and see if it happens there or refresh your existing profile.
These are some screenshots of the problem above.
Under a new user account that doesn't use sync the site works. In my regular account, I manually disabled all my add-ons, turned of ETP, and set my privacy to standard and no joy. Only Safe Mode works on my regular account. Even signed out of my sync account and still no joy.
Waterfox shows me what the browser is waiting for. see screenshot

@jonzn4SUSE That is awesome detective work and can't thank you enough for doing that. Now my question is what do we do with your findings to get this fixed. Do we contact [email protected] with an email with the findings or Firefox. I do want to keep my Firefox profile as I have had it for years. I know how to export faves and saved logins and passwords and import them and such but if I have to I will but I do not want to set up a new profile and it happens again. I am just at a loss right now.

If you are using the built-in password manager to sign in, try deleting the Sony login credentials and instead sign in manually.
I enter my user name manually but then when I press enter all it does is go to a white page with the grey circle spinning and never gets to the page to enter my password manually. Did you see the screen shots above that jonzn4SUSE posted from Waterfox.

Could someone please report this problem as a bug to the powers that be. I just got a new FF update and they seemed to have fixed a high CPU for YouTube.
Don
It is already tracked by Bug 1863300. Are you sure you don't have any Sony logins listed in about:logins?
Thank you so much for the reply and positive as I removed everything Sony in logins.

I wanted to let you know that I just tried logging into Sony before shutting down my machine for the night. I manually typed in my user name and the spinning circle appeared but only for a few seconds then it went on to the password page where I entered my password and I was in. I logged out of Sony and tried it again and this time Firefox asked me to save login and password which I did. Now with it saved I logged out of Sony and logged back in and I got in to Sony again. I did this several more times with waiting 15 minutes between logout and logging back in. So it seems to be fine now. I hope it stays that way. Thank you everyone for your help so now I can put MS Edge back into hiding.
Respectfully, Don
