Hi Nico, could you take a look at the built-in about:processes page (Shift+Esc) and see whether it matches up to the Windows task manager? It also should point toward the sites using a lot of resources, or sometimes it's Firefox itself.

I notice there are two Firefox entries in your Task Manager, which is unusual; normally there is only one entry. This can indicate a malware infection, but before jumping to any conclusions, I suggest checking the about:processes page.

Hmm, I just realized you can't see the process ID numbers unless you use the "Details" tab in the Windows Task Manager. That might make it a bit easier to confirm that they match up.

A lot of people think Windows Defender is enough for real-time antivirus protection, but you can supplement that with some on-demand scanners. This article lists some Firefox user favorites: Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware.

Ok here you go!

I want to see your performance tab.

It will be easier for you to compare between the Windows Task Manager Details tab and Firefox's about:processes if you sort the Details column by Name to get all the Firefox processes together. Then you should be able to confirm that the processes match up. Hopefully they do.

I would bet that more than half the ram is used just logging into windows and not opening anything. You have an I9 with 16 threads, you can find more ram at a good price on ebay.
