(BTW - not sure why the Thunderbird help process ended me up here, but I guess they know.....)

There used to be (way back when) a way to get start the TB address book module directly with a desktop command-line type shortcut. I've been away from TB for many years, but am back now - but I'll be snookered if I can find out how to get the address book up without having to start TB and then click in.

Chosen solution

Use the -addressbook command, e.g. Windowskey+R, enter

thunderbird.exe -addressbook

or the full path, e.g.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Thunderbird78R\thunderbird.exe -addressbook

if the exe is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Thunderbird78R

Use full path to create a desktop shortcut.

Ctrl+1 to open the main window if only Address Book is open.
