I was using FF 68.0.2 and all versions before it for years and I never had a problem. After I installed version 69 I began to have these black screens! Im using 69.0.1 now and it seems a bit better, with 69 I was having more crashes. Im using h264ify addon because youtube was too unstable in 69 version and using h264 codec seems more stable. I am not completely sure this is a Firefox problem or a Windows 10 problem because microsoft has release buggy patches recently. I uninstalled last microsoft patch just in case but I still have this creashes.

Sometimes Firefox return to normal if I minimize the windows and restore it but sometimes it crashes completely.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

While still in Safe Mode;

In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP- in front of the numbers/letters, click it to submit them.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

Using your mouse, mark the most recent 7 - 10 Submitted crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box and paste them in.

As I change FF version and windows patches and the problem was not completely solved I started to check my hardware.

Im using 16Gb Corsair DDR4 in XMP profile which put my RAM at 1.35V and my system was running well since 2 or more years. Nevertheless I set the RAM voltage to 1.37V(which is somewhat high) and ran Prime95 for some time and think the issues have gone.

Its strange this change in voltage after all this time using this system. I'm gonna use this system for a couple of days and if I dont face more crashes I will mark this topis as solved.

Thank you for the help.

You should check with a tech and make sure there is no problem.

After changing my memory voltage I didn't have more crashes but today while I was answering the Firefox survey I had one more blank screen like I posted up there. I minimize the window and restore it and it came back to normal.

I had this kind of event more times too. Sometimes when Firefox was opening a smaller window, like that one related to downloads, the windows was blank too. This issue isn't happening all the time but still happens.

I'm using FF 70.0 now and I still have some random but not frequently blank screens, like this:

In some cases, blank display problems in Firefox are caused by malware such as Trojans, rogue security programs and spyware. Some malware are known to hijack a browser, which leads to display problems and unauthorized redirection to websites that promote rogue security programs.
