Are there really only 64 Add-ons for Firefox 57+

With only a month (or less) to go before the launch of Firefox 57, I have been looking for extensions that are compatible with the new version(s). Whenever I click 'Find Replacement' in the Legacy Extensions list (using Firefox Dev Edition) I get the same list of only 64 extensions. Are there really only 64 extensions that are going to work in 57+?

If so it suggests there will be a disaster. Most of my favourite extensions are either late in creating new versions (so will cease until updated), or are going to cease working forever.

The only solution I can see is to stay strictly to version 56 until the situation improves. This of course isn't ideal, but the better of two poor choices.

hi, no this is just a custom collection curated by mozilla of some of the most popular webextensions.

currently there are nearly 10k addons compatible with firefox 57 listed on addons.mozilla.org alone: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search/?q=&appver=57.0

Thanks, that makes more sense!

It still seems that whenever I click on 'Find a Replacement' I get shown these same 64 extensions, which is not as helpful as one would like. Trying to search through 10k extensions is daunting. I'll look to see if I can sort alphabetically or by topic.

Suggest you find a better word than replacement when searching. Also use Google when Searching though Extension site is ok. Comparable would be a better choice.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

How about : 'Alternative for ' ....... (?)

And/or : 'Compatible with Firefox 57+ ' ........ (?)

Thank you. All useful suggestions. I have been searching more widely.

I still think that where Firefox (Dev Edition) lists 'Legacy Extensions', with a button labelled 'Find a Replacement' beside each Legacy Extension it would be helpful to be taken somewhere relevant to the particular extension rather than to the limited list of 64. Of course, that's more difficult to achieve.

You are absolutely right  !

As most developers at the time that Dev Edition was written still weren't clear about whether or not they would migrate their add-on to Webextensions (and some still aren't) : almost impossible to provide such list.
