Suddenly, since the automatic update to 52.3, I cannot receive any emails for some of my accounts. Clicking on them shows the Server is down/disconnected error. The folder subscribe list for those accounts is empty, no entries and no checkboxes, not even a trash or inbox is present. I tried sending an email to a friend who confirmed they received it, but it showed error when I sent it and told me the email was not sent and not copied to the sent box. My antivirus, isp and antispyware softwares are not the problem, because some of my accounts are still working as normal in thunderbird.

Please help!

When I log onto the hotmail/outlook servers, the new emails are loading fine, and there is no change in verification. I don't use two-step. Passwords are unchanged.

Do you use Avast ? Another person had similar issue and found that Avast was the culprit.

In Avast security products you can disable the interception of secure connections:

Open the dashboard of your Avast application. Go to Settings > Active Protection and click Customize next to Web Shield. Uncheck the Enable HTTPS Scanning setting and confirm this by clicking OK.

I don't use Avast, but now the problem accounts are all working again! Thanks Toad-Hall!
