"Something is preventing Thunderbird from updating securely. Please make sure that you have the latest version of Thunderbird."

I get this error message regularly each week even though I have the latest version installed and I have always had the automatic update properly configured....why does this keep happening?

I recently installed Windows 10 and could not get their edge browser to work well nor their cortana to even open, so perhaps there is another problem too?

Thanks,

Odd one. Please check how many versions of Thunderbird are installed.

Settings > control panel > programs and features what is listed for Thunderbird?

Hello Toad-Hall; Sorry it took so long to reply, we are in the middle of moving, so time and services are in constant flux. It also took me a while to find 'program and features' on Windows 10, as it isn't as easy as outlined. Regardless, I have only 1 version of Thunderbird 45.2.0 installed. Today I got that error message again. I cannot tell the reason for it, it just pops up every so often. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, PT
