When I'm using Firefox browser, whenever I click on the page random tabs open with random adverts or dodgy content and I've tried playing with security settings but it still keeps opening random tabs, even when I don't select relevant links to these tabs. What causes this? It's driving me insane because I'm constantly having to close these tabs.

Thanks.

Hi, this sounds like you might have picked up some malware, so you can try these free programs, which work with your existing antivirus software:

I suggest starting with AdwCleaner, but note that not all removal programs will detect all malware, so you may need to run several or all of them.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.
