I have the setting turned on where all deleted emails should go to my AllMail. Yet this is not happening and deleted emails are in my trash instead.

I like to keep what I have left to do for the day in my inbox and tag everything before deleting it to my all mail.

gmail: If you select to delete a message then it will go to the gmail Trash. gmail Trash folder is perioidcally automatically deleted by gmail.

All messages received amd sent are stored in 'All Mail' by default, which is also your Archived mail. They remain in 'All Mail' unless you delete the email and it is labelled for trash. The only reason you see them in other folders is because a label is applied to show email in that folder.

So. I'm trying to understand why would you delete something you do not want to delete and then try to send it to the folder it is already in.

Suggest you just use 'Archive', then it stays in 'All Mail'. Only use 'Delete' when you actually want to delete.
