Firefox stopped working on one computer. When I click the Firefox icon it says "cannot find the Mozilla runtime" this has happened several times in the past and each time I just did a free Firefox download again and it fixed the problem, now when I try to do the free Firefox download internet explorer says it cannot display the webpage. I have tried to do a free Firefox download on all three computers in my office and get the same message even on two computers where Firefox is working properly.

Chosen solution

Download the Firefox installer on a different PC from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/ and transfer it to the problematic PC via a USB stick?

Are you attempting to download Firefox from here? https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/fx/#desktop Or here. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/

Attempting to download Firefox from either location gets the same result: Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

You're not running IE in Compatibility mode, are you? Right-click the IE desktop or Start Menu icon and open Properties > Compatibility.

What security software do you have?

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.

Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.

Hi All, Downloaded the installer on an unaffected PC, sent the link for the installer to the email on the computer having the problem, opened the link on that computer download started, all appears to be fixed. Thank you
