Firefox on Mac closes windows for print or attachments
not sure why this is happening now. when I attempt to print, firefox would automatically close the "pop-up" window. not exactly a pop-up window, but system window to print. the same thing happens when I attempt to add attachments to an email. firefox would automatically close the system window, which would allow me to choose files to upload.
I don't have this problem when using safari. but the problem has persisted on firefox even though I had rebooted the application as well as the macbook. and couldn't figure out what has gone wrong (as I have had this macbook for the past 5 years with no issues)?
I'm using OS 10.5.8 (which is the latest available version for this macbook). and firefox 12.0.

found an answer by adding "arch i386" prior to the command. was able to create a new profile. and seems that it has resolved the issue. thank you very much for your assistance!

-> Start Firefox in -> Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if your add-ons/extensions are causing the problems.
- Also see this article -> Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems
Check and tell if its working normally while using Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.
retarted firefox in safe mode. the problem is still there. :o/ not sure why it's only firefox as it works fine with safari (with both print and attachment windows), and I tried printing with MS word - no issue.
Create a New Profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
- Basic Troubleshooting - Make a New Profile
- Now start Firefox using this newly created profile.
IF that New Profile works then you can recover your History, Bookmarks and Passwords from the Old Profile.
Check and tell if its working.

tried that, but seems that terminal isn't able to execute?
user:~ danb$ /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox-bin -p
dyld: unknown required load command 0x80000022
Trace/BPT trap
user:~ danb$ /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox -profilemanager
dyld: unknown required load command 0x80000022
Trace/BPT trap
I do see the profile in my users library folder.
