I have been using variations of mozilla packages for about 7 years now with no problems. More recently I was using Sea Monkey. Last week the cursor movement became irratic particularly when the cursor is moved to the menu bar. The cursor rapidly scrolls left to right across the screen. In addition the text types backwards. I downloaded Firefox and the same happens. Ther are now problems with other programms such as notepad. I have sourced some old forums and tried the solutions without success. I have also tried updating Jave. My version is upto date. Selecting options in pull down menus are blocked, so could not download Internet explorer.

Try to disable hardware acceleration.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
