I just automatically updated my Thunderbird installation. Only after the update was I told that the ImportExportTools NG incompatible with the new version. One of the reasons for using T'bird is for archiving old messages (mainly gmail). Are there plans to update the add-on or is there a work around for importing .mbox files ?

To import mbox files manually, copy them into the Mail/Local Folders subfolder of the profile folder, with TB closed. Remove the .mbox extension if it is present.

Thanks for your reply. Why is it necessary to remove the .mbox extension? In my ignorance I just copied the folder/file with extension into the Local Folder and restarted TB. The original folder/file "xxxx.mbox" remains and a new file is created with "xxxx.mbox.msf extension.

If you look in the account subfolders of Mail or ImapMail, you will see that the mbox files have no extension. But I just did a test with an mbox renamed with an .mbox extension, copied it into Mail/Local Folders, then restarted TB. The folder and its messages appeared complete. So I guess it's no longer necessary to remove the extension.

115.2.1 & 115.2.2 very buggy. Regret updating.

Junk folder is not working. No export profile. Text size has gone very small and cant be increased using font size setting. Compact Folders function grayed out. Intermittent double delete to delete an email.

As I use portable Thunderbird I can easily copy the current profile to a saved prior release of Thunderbird.

Should I?
