I like to use Firefox as my browser at work, I'm on a Thin-Client system running Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC.

Once and a while during my work day (no rime or reason) Firefox will take a very long time (minutes) to open web pages. I can get the webpage to load instantly if I simply open a different browser (Chrome or Edge). Once the other browser opens, the web page will load instantly in Firefox. I can close the other browser and Firefox will function normally. This will reoccur multiple times throughout the day for, seemingly, no reason.

I have never experienced this with other browsers, I can use them all day without any hiccups/slow downs. it does not relate to any specific web page or time period. It can happen at any time on any website.

Firefox wont load a webpage unless I open a different browser. As soon as the other browser pops up on my screen the webpages in Firefox will suddenly load. If I don't open another browser, Firefox will suddenly load the webpage(s) but it will sit for multiple minutes before they suddenly load.

I recall seeing another report along the same lines, but I can't recall whether it was on a similar configuration. (I'll try to search, not that I recall there being a clear explanation or solution.)

The next time Firefox gets slow, could you open the Network Monitor (Ctrl+Shift+E), stop the load (X button on the toolbar), then resubmit the request (either using the address bar or the link, as the case may be). Then watch to see whether Firefox is promptly sending out the requests and waiting for results (they should show up in the monitor) or seems to be idling before sending them out.

Could be a problem with your Sophos Intercept X security software.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support to see if that has effect.

I did this, but I don't really know what I'm looking at/for or what to do with this information. When I open the network monitor and go the "timings" tab I can see how long it is taking to get the plethora of "files" for link I open. A few of the files show they were 'blocked' for 200ms and "waiting" for 69ms. Im not sure what that means though.

I do have ad blockers running too but this happens whether they are enabled or not.

Thanks for your response.
