It looks like the same problem caused by the parental settings in win 10, but I do not have that activated. Downloading files only creates 0kb clutter files in the download folder, if anything happens at all.

Are you using a download manager?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

hi, is your device/account somehow protected by windows parental controls? the problem you're seeing is likely https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1586228 which is currently under investigation...

As I said, I do not have parental controls activated.

No I do not use a download manager. Starting in safe mode did not help I'm afraid.

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web Link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for a download manager.

This download manager works separately from the browser. The browser tells it what to download, and off it goes.

http://www.freedownloadmanager.org It is a powerful modern download accelerator and organizer for Windows and Mac.
