When I click "Bookmarks" in the menu bar, I get the options "Show all bookmarks", "Bookmark this page", "Bookmarks toolbar" and "Other bookmarks". When I use my mouse to highlight "Bookmarks toolbar", then I get my Bookmarks directory structure of folders ("Computer related", "Mail", "Online accounts", etc.), each of which contains a number of websites that I use regularly.

Is there a way to see my directory structure immediately upon clicking the "Bookmarks" menu bar option, without having to go down to the "Bookmarks" toolbar to finally see them? This would save me one step each time a go to a bookmarked site.

I think the extra step may be a result of having imported my bookmarks from Chrome. Thanks for your help!

I'm running Firefox 54.0 (32 bit) on Windows 10 with a Dell laptop.

You can move (cut/paste) folders currently in the Bookmarks Toolbar folder to the Bookmarks Menu folder if you want to have them at that level. When the Bookmarks Toolbar is visible then you can also access these folders via that toolbar.

Thanks for your reply, but I don't want to use the Bookmarks Toolbar. I want to use the Menu Bar, then click on "Bookmarks", and have the drop-down menu directly display my folders in alphabetical order. I'm trying to avoid having the click on "Bookmarks", then mouse down to "Bookmarks Toolbar", in order to see my folder (directory) structure. It saves one step in the process of accessing my Bookmarks. Cut and paste, copy and paste, does not work for this.

But thank you for taking the time to respond.

What folder do you try to copy or move?

You can't cut/copy the full Bookmarks Toolbar folder, but you should be able to copy a specific folder or at least the content of a folder to the main Bookmarks Menu folder in the Library. Use the right pane in the Bookmarks Manager (Library) to copy folder content (Ctrl+A) to the clipboard via the right-click context menu.
