How do I move the "New Bookmark" dialog box so I can see it easier? I can't drag it anywhere, like to the middle of the screen. I'd expect to be able to hold the left mouse button, and drag it to any location on the screen.

The panel isn't a separate box, so it can't be moved, unfortunately.
Many parts of Firefox can be modified using custom style rules, so possibly the panel could be shown in a different position on screen (still fixed, though).
Perhaps one of the many bookmark-related add-ons has a movable dialog? I haven't checked myself.
How do you open this new bookmark dialog?
If you right-click the Bookmarks Toolbar to create a new bookmark on the Bookmarks Toolbar then you should get a standalone window that you can move around. If you click the star twice then you always get a doorhanger connected to the star.
ok, thanks!
Can you clarify how you are creating the new bookmark?
yes, I right click and a menu pops up, and I then left click on the Bookmark-star. A dialog box then appears in the upper left hand corner of the Firefox window. I'd like to be able to just drag that window down into the middle of the screen to see easier. It was pointed out in an earlier post that if I have the Bookmark toolbar visible, I can right click on it, left click on "New Bookmark" on the menu that appears, and then a movable dialog box will appear. Thanks
If you click the highlighted star (e.g. twice to get the dialog) or use Bookmark this Page (Edit This Bookmark; Ctrl+D) then you will always get a pop-up connected to the star as a doorhanger. You could open the bookmarks sidebar to have more control. You can drag the globe/padlock at the left end of the location/address bar to the bookmarks sidebar or to the Bookmarks Toolbar to create the bookmark in a specific location. You can use Properties in the right-click context menu of a bookmark to get a standalone window. Bookmarks created via the star are always created in the Unsorted folder and this folder can only be accessed directly via the sidebar or the Bookmarks Manager (Library). Bookmarks created via "Bookmark This Page" are created in the Bookmarks Menu folder and thus can be right-clicked.

There is a "dual" or "paired" toolbar button - Star tied to a Clipboard that has tooltips saying "Edit this bookmark" and "Show your bookmarks" on cursor hover - where is that "dual" button located?
The location of where that button is placed usually determines where that dialog will appear. I think you may have moved that button to the left side of the Location Bar.
If you don't understand my description, please provide a screenshot of your Firefox installation.
See this support article. How do I create a screenshot of my problem? It is best to use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed a maximum file size of 1 MB.
Then use the Browse .... button below the Post a Reply text box to upload the screenshot.
Thank you very much guys, for the detailed replies, that explains it well. I appreciate it!
