Why is this so hard to do? Just like Mozilla or Google Chrome, I want to login to my sync account and import all of my data from before I reformatted.

I can log in to sync and there are no options to put all of my information back onto my computer.

Very frustrating...

I synced Mozilla before it had to get some work done...I thought that in the "profile" there would be all my bookmarks and info. I found an old bookmark HTML file from December of last year, so that's not really great...

I need to bring back my old profile to get all of the memorized URLs, bookmarks, info, etc. like this article says (http://mzl.la/LOAFED) however it's still not reading the profile...

Hopefully this makes more sense? Thanks in advance.

Ben

You no longer have your old profile?

Yes the screenshot is the old profile. My computer needed some work so they replaced the motherboard and reformatted the boot drive. I installed firefox and I want to dump all my info into Firefox and then go from where I was before I sent my computer in...I've gotten my bookmarks back (from 6 months ago on an old save...)but all of the other info: web-sites that Firefox knows I want to visit, filled in info, etc. isn't all there.

I just want to import my entire profile. I "synced" everything before I sent the computer in, and I just want to sync the info that's on the server to my laptop here...I'm not sure that I'm making sense...

Can you post a screenshot of what is inside of the old profile?

If you still have access to the drive with that old profile then you can copy some files from that profile to the current profile folder.

If you want to restore data from the sync server then you can only do that if you have a backup of the sync key and still know the password of the sync account. You can have you send a new password, but the sync key is essential.

Make sure to check the Sync options when you want to recover previously stored data on the Sync server.

  • click the "Sync Options" button at the bottom to select what to sync (Sync Options only affect the first sync)

Select this choice if you want to restore data from the Sync server:

  • "Replace all data on this device with my Sync data"
