When I watched utube videos I used to just left click on the moving downloadhealper icon on the left hand side of the video and a little number would come up next to the downloadhelper icon above in the firefox tool bar, and if I clicked on tools and looked under downloads then I could check on its progress, but now nothing is there, in fact the icon next to any video does not even move anymore. P.S. Am I doing something wrong? I'm running windows 7. Could you help me please. Regards: Mark.

Could you check the suggestions in this thread: Why isn't Downloadhelper working with Youtube?

Also, the forum software detected your Firefox as version 18. Is that correct?

Version 18 is not secure; Mozilla discloses security flaws after each new release. Is something holding you back from upgrading to Firefox 21? Please let us know so we can suggest solutions or workarounds.

If Help > About Firefox shows Firefox 21.0, you may need to clear the preference that is misreporting your version number. See: How to reset the default user agent on Firefox.

By the way, your "More system details" link (to the right of your post) shows two Flash plugins. Sometimes the updater fails to remove an old one if it's in use. You can delete it manually from here:

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash

Look for files starting with NPSWF32 and just keep the latest one.

Are you using the latest version of the Video DownloadHelper extension?

Try to ask advice at the DownloadHelper forum:

You can also check for other extensions interfering and only enable this extension.
