Is there any way to opt out of all the downgrades Mozilla puts out? Now I've been upgraded to eyesore that is proton, and it messed up my userChrome.css real bad. After updating all the files to newest version I still had to look up few fixes, and its not perfect (few options that are basically must-use no longer work with Proton)

I really wish Mozilla focused on functional aspect, not visual one, from 2007 on - it peaked visually at that time and recreating old layout is pain in the ass. Devs of custom userChrome.css now had to program in their own positioning code because existing one was removed for no reason, causing any "tabs under favorites and adress bar" to be displayed between menu and adress bar instead.

Sorry I don't really have an answer to your questions, but I do have a question for you:

Do you have a working solution for placing the tabs below the address bar? If so, feel free to share because other users are also looking for it.

So far, I've just been referring people to:

https://www.reddit.com/r/FirefoxCSS/comments/nq2d0q/tabs_on_bottom_for_firefox_89/

Note: if you paste CSS into a reply on this forum, put <pre> before and </pre> after your code block to avoid having it butchered.

Hello

Please check out Aris-t2 CustomCSSforFx

I use it for multiple basic visual fixes, including the tabs below adress bar.

Rest of code I use is for other purposes, so if it's your only desired thing just get that and comment every import except relevant one! It's really easy to use, just read through the customization file, it tells you what does what.

all the constant unwanted changes and the one we all want , tabs below , and we still dont get them. blue star edit bookmark , pointless and cant get rid of it . dark theme , cant change unless i change my theme , brilliant !!!?? , i dont want to change my theme , but a choice would be good without having to change the theme. tabs are too bloody big with a crap high light around the tab i'm on , i know what tab i'm on i dont need a crap bit of white around it ( cant change colour which would be better) book marks here there and every where , only need them down the left. page info moved for no reason and not told where to find it ( i know where it is now)

fire fox , stop polishing a turd and give users something decent and why use bloody chrome , might as well use google ffs

Trev, the "userChrome.css" is name of customization script. It's used to make Firefox look more like we want it.

For example, like this:
