Problem with online banking after update to version 68.0
Cannot send secure message to bank while logged in to my bank account. I get a title saying "undefined" and when I go to log off the two buttons for confirm or remain logged on have no text and the title "undefined" is there. However those buttons do actually work. I have logged on to banking using Microsoft Edge and everything worked just fine.
Chosen solution
Hi All, there is a patch rolling out later this month (I don't know the exact timing) for
http://rolb.santanderbank.com/
If you are seeing this problem on a different site, could you mention the host name so it can also get the patch?
By the way, the patch modifies how Firefox identifies itself to the site to trigger a more modern section of its old scripts. It inserts the word "like" and a space before the word Gecko.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:68.0) like Gecko/20100101 Firefox/68.0

No problem with login and using the website, apart from two aspects - the first problem is when you go to secure messages.
Is it the same problem where none of the text fills in? What is the host name in the address bar when that happens?
At log off there is also an issue as comes up "undefined" - although if you hit the right hand button (no advisory text) as previously it will log off.
What is the host name in the address bar when that happens?

Same as MAC says, no problem @ login or viewing accounts moving money etc.
What is the host name in the address bar when the problem appears?
I marked the problem as solved when I learned there was a patch on the way, not because the issue was solved
The patch is out already for rolb.santanderbank.com -- does that cover your usage? If not, what is the host name in the address bar when the problem appears?
I have just updated to V80.01 - there is no change. Here are three links the first is good the second two bring up the "undefined" text and do not resolve correctly. If you paste them all into the address bar you will just get the logon page. https://retail.santander.co.uk/EBAN_Accounts_ENS/channel.ssobto?dse_operationName=MyAccounts
Hi dekker, I added that to the list for the next patch.
I have the exact same problem, in addition is is impossible to read any Secure messages that have been sent to me - The Window that should display a list of Messages remains completely blank. I have been able to send Secure messages to Santander by guessing which of the "undefined" buttons to press, and have told them of these problems, inclkuding that I cannot read Secure Messages - their repsonse was to send me a reply by Secure Message that I cannot see ! ( They sent me an email telling me there was a new Secure message waiting for me ! ). This is so frustratimg - I won't use other Browsers, but may end up switching Banks if this is not resolved soon !
I simply use Chrome for Santander when/if I need to check secure messages - otherwise Firefox for everything else with their banking website.
Changing banks is not required, a solution will be found.

Hi Alan, is it the UK site that has the problem? I suspect the workaround won't be in place until Firefox 69. If you want to try implementing it yourself, here are the steps:
(1) Select and copy the following text
general.useragent.override.santander.co.uk---Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:68.0) like Gecko/20100101 Firefox/68.0
(2) In a new tab, type about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.
(3) In the search box above the list, type or paste usera and pause while the list is filtered
(4) Right-click a blank area of the page, click New, then click String. This should open a small dialog where you can paste the above string. Then remove everything after the --- and the --- itself so it says
general.useragent.override.santander.co.uk
and click OK
(5) Paste the above string and remove everything before the --- and then the --- itself so it says
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:68.0) like Gecko/20100101 Firefox/68.0
and click OK
Then try the site again.
Note: that is the user agent string for 64-bit Firefox on Windows 10. If you are using a Mac or Linux, you might prefer to use something closer to your regular user agent string and just insert like before Gecko. You can copy it from the Troubleshooting Information page. Either:
- "3-bar" menu button > "?" Help > Troubleshooting Information
- (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
- type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter
You'll see it about 6 rows down in the first table.
Note that you can use a regular expression to override the user agent to replace 'Gecko' with 'like Gecko' to avoid issues with a 'sticky' user agent.
general.useragent.override.santander.co.uk = Gecko#like Gecko
Been away for a while glad to say all seems OK now with the Banking problem. Thanks to all for the help. Can't see a button to click for problem solved ?
