I was wondering if there is anyway to rearrange the user interface in Thunderbird. I'd like to put my inbox folder on the left and the email opens on the right, so side-by-side instead of Ontop of the email. This is for a client who is switching from outlook and trying to make it as much like their outlook as possible.

If you select View/Layout/Vertical View, is that close? Press Alt if the Menu Bar is hidden.

There are more layout options with MoreLayouts.

Click the 3 line AppMenu button. Hover your mouse over Options and select Layout. You have 3 layouts to choose from.
